Track 1: Agricultural Production Systems

Agriculture conference focusses on the agricultural production system. It is an assemblage of components which are united by some form of interaction and interdependence and which operate within a prescribed boundary to achieve a specified agricultural objective on behalf of the beneficiaries of the system.

Agriculture event intimate Agricultural productivity is measured as the ratio of agricultural outputs to agricultural inputs. While individual products are usually measured by weight, their varying densities make measuring overall agricultural output difficult. Therefore, the output is usually measured as the market value of final output, which excludes intermediate products such as corn feed used in the meat industry. This output value may be compared to many different types of inputs such as labor and land (yield). These are called partial measures of productivity. Agriculture conference provides an opportunity to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of Agricultural Production Systems.

Track 2: Energy and Agriculture

Agriculture conference focusses on the subject energy and agriculture. Energy has always been essential for the production of food. Prior to the industrial revolution, the primary energy input for agriculture was the sun; photosynthesis enabled plants to grow, and plants served as food for livestock, which provided fertilizer (manure) and muscle power for farming. However, as a result, of the industrialization and consolidation of agriculture, food production has become increasingly dependent on energy derived from fossil fuels.

Large quantities of agricultural wastes resulting from crop cultivation activity are a promising source of energy supply for production, processing and domestic activities in rural areas of the concerned region. The available crop residues are either being used inefficiently or burnt in the open to clear the fields for subsequent crop cultivation. On an average 1.5 tons of crop residue are generated for processing 1 ton of the main product. In addition, substantial quantities of secondary residues are produced in agro-industries processing farm produce such as paddy, sugarcane, coconut, fruits and vegetables. Agriculture conference provides an opportunity to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of Energy and Agriculture.

Track 6: Fertilizer and Pesticide

Agriculture conference focusses on fertilizer  which is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soils or to plants tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Fertilisers enhance the growth of plants. This goal is met in two ways, the traditional one being additives that provide nutrients. The second mode by which some fertilisers act is to enhance the effectiveness of the soil by modifying its water retention and aeration.

Pesticides are substances meant for attracting, seducing, and then destroying, or mitigating any pest. They are a class of biocide. The most common use of pesticides is as plant protection products (also known as crop protection products), which in general protect plants from damaging influences such as weeds, plant diseases or insects. This use of pesticides is so common that the term pesticide is often treated as synonymous with plant protection product, although it is, in fact, a broader term, as pesticides are also used for non-agricultural purposes. Agriculture conference provides an opportunity to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of Fertilizer and Pesticide.

Rice is the seed of the grass species Oryza sativa (Asian rice) or Oryza glaberrima (African rice). As a cereal grain, it is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the world's human population. Since a large portion of maize crops are grown for purposes other than human consumption, rice is the most important grain with regard to human nutrition and caloric intake, providing more than one fifth of the calories consumed worldwide by humans. Agriculture conference provides an opportunity to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of Rice Research.

Introduction

Without modern agricultural techniques, current population levels could not be sustained and projected near-term population growth would create stresses that would destabilize the current global social and political order.  Relatively recent innovations in seeds, chemicals, and fertilizers have enabled agricultural producers to meet the ever-growing demands of a hungry world population. Even with the rapid increases, in agricultural productivity, however, challenges for the agriculture industry to supply the growing global economy with sufficient supplies of agricultural staples are greater now than ever before. A new green revolution similar to the one that took place during the latter part of the 20th century is taking place all over the world to meet the expected demand by the growing world population and its increased standard of living.

Scope and Importance:

Economic growth and industrialization of a nation is inextricably linked to the continuous availability, access, diversity and modernization of its agriculture sector. Agriculture, in fact, plays a vital function in whole goals and endeavors to attain fiscal development. A lot of the present day’s developed economies initially struggled to make their agricultural sector stronger. The states at a priority basis supply monetary help to their farmers, researchers, and scientists with a plan to boost their agricultural inventions still further. Agricultural science is among one of the best career options for a study and because of the lack of information and proper guidance, peoples usually under-estimate this field. Each and the every requirements and need of creature including food, clothing and shelter are straightforwardly rewarded by agriculture. A continuous research work is involving in this field to provide the maximum necessities to an ever-increasing population of the world. Essentially, the entire agricultural land expansion might be taken place in developing countries of the world. Consequently, the importance of agriculture to society impinges on our quality of life, food, nutrition, clothing, and locality where peoples are living.

Global Market Segmentation:

These factors will continue to influence trends in demand over the next three decades. For example, world population will go on rising, but less rapidly, growing at an average of 1.1 percent a year up to 2030, compared with 1.7 percent a year over the past 30 years.

By 1997-99, 61 percent of the world's population were living in countries where average food consumption per person was above 2 700 kcal per day.

As a result, future demand for agricultural products is expected to slow further - to 1.6 percent a year for the period 1997-99 to 2015 and to 1.4 percent for 2015 to 2030. In developing countries, the slowdown will be more dramatic, from 3.7 percent for the past 30 years to an average 2 percent for the next 30.

The forces underlying this slowdown can be seen in the example of China, which has been one of the major engines of growth in the demand for food and agricultural products in the world and in the developing countries over the past few decades. By 1997-99 the Chinese had reached an average daily food consumption of 3 040 kcal - only 10 percent short of the level in industrial countries. Over the next three decades, the country's aggregate food consumption is expected to grow at only a quarter of the rate seen in the past three decades, while its population will grow at a third of its past rate. Given the sheer size of China's population, these shifts alone will have a huge effect on the global situation. Many other countries, including some of the largest ones, will be undergoing very similar shifts that will further lower the growth of demand.

Why in Malaysia

Agriculture remains an important sector of Malaysia's economy, contributing 12 percent to the national GDP and providing employment for 16 percent of the population. The British established large-scale plantations and introduced new commercial crops (rubber in 1876, palm oil in 1917, and cocoa in the 1950s). The 3 main crops—rubber, palm oil, and cocoa—have dominated agricultural exports ever since, although the Malaysian share of the world's production of these crops declined steadily during the last 2 decades. In addition to these products, Malaysian farmers produce a number of fruits and vegetables for the domestic market, including bananas, coconuts, durian, pineapples, rice, rambutan (a red, oval fruit grown on a tree of the same name in Southeast Asia), and others. The Malaysian tropical climate is very favorable for the production of various exotic fruits and vegetables.

Malaysia produced 10.55 million metric tons of palm oil, remaining one of the world's largest producers. Almost 85 percent or 8.8 million metric tons of this was exported to international market. Malaysia is one of the world's leading suppliers of rubber, producing 767,000 metric tons of rubber in 1999. However, in the 1990s, large plantation companies began to turn to the more profitable palm oil production. Malaysia also is the world's fourth-largest producer of cocoa, producing 84,000 metric tons in 1999.
