Biography
Prof Abbyssinia Mushunje is currently a Full Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University Of Fort Hare South Africa. He is also the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension at the same university. Prof Mushunje is the Eastern Cape Provincial Coordinator of Economic Education in South Africa. He received his BSc Agricultural Economics (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe in 1991, before obtaining and MSC and PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Fort Hare in 2001 and 2005 respectively. His most recent research has been focussing on the following; land reform, farm efficiency, food security, climate change, ecotourism, food systems; etc. He has published about 40 papers in international peer reviewed journals. To date he has successfully supervised 25 Masters and 11 PhD students.
